Hello beautiful people! Hope you all are having a good one. As you know already I am the student of English Works Program funded and organized by US Consulate and Horizon Welfare Association. Till now you all must know that we have many remarkable events and activities in this program in which we are enjoying and learning hardcore skills simultaneously.
One of these activities was organized on July 3, 2019 at US Consulate Karachi in the scenario of US Independence Day Celebration. As it was a very first experience for all of the students to celebrate any other country's independence so naturally all of us were pretty much excited for that new kind of experience. With our honorable teachers we have started the preparations a week prior to the actual Day. Here are some glimpse of these preparations,
Now here comes the Day. we reached at US Consulate Karachi One hour prior so we could get the enough time to set up our stalls. Our teachers divided us into different groups to make sure that every student would be getting the chance to fully participate in all the activities. Every group was appointed with the responsibility of their designated stall. Basically there were different stalls of different things which includes Guess The Candy, Photo Booth, Jigsaw Puzzle, Pin the Stars, Henna And Face Painting, Queries Stall and last but not the least The Food Stall and believe me the food was fantastic! After setting up our stalls we were waiting for the US Diplomats and the staff of the Consulate to join us and have some fun. And then the wait was over and they stated to came to celebrate. They were very excited and happy because obviously it was there independence day. All of them took their parts in every activity enthusiastically. And it was not all about fun, while interacting with each other we get to know each other's cultures, History and movement of independence and found that alongside with little differences we have so much commonalities between Pakistan and USA. Here are some glimpses of the day,
While American official and us were having fun roaming around the beautiful stalls our management decided to cut the cake to celebrate that day officially. At first all of us recited USA and Pakistan national anthems together and booooommmm! Happy Independence to USA cheers all around the room. Surprisingly our program manager sir Unman Hashmi decided to play the songs in both country's native language so we could get the chance to move a bit and have fun and yeah it was too much fun.
But there was another surprise waiting for us.To promote sport diplomacy between the two countries the consulate management had already organized a friendly Softball match for us. First we got the T-shirts of different colors and formed our teams accordingly. As it was a whole new experience for us so we want to learnt about the game technicalities and for this there were some coaches and also some of the national level players and of course some American officials too. After getting some basic and compulsory knowledge about the game we played the actual match and believe it was worth it. We actually loved that moments. Now I can say it was one of the remarkable and memorable day for all of us. I could hope now that in future we will get more of these kind of chances to get closer with each other and learn more and more about ourselves, our communities, our values, and all the similarities. here are some glimpses of the sport playing,
And last but not the least, here is the group picture,
